The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has awarded ENSCO, Inc. a 5-year contract for the Automated Track Inspection Program (ATIP). Under the new contract, ENSCO will operate and maintain six FRA track inspection cars.
The ATIP program is designed to improve the quality and safety of America’s railroads, under statutes mandated by Congress. ATIP cars conduct operational surveys of the rail transportation network in the United States and they determine railroad compliance with federal track safety standards.
ENSCO has been involved with the ATIP program since the 1970s, when it received its first FRA contract. “The ATIP program has been a cornerstone for the company for many years,” stated Boris Nejikovsky, ENSCO president.
The ENSCO group of companies provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions to governments and private industries worldwide.
