Eric M. Hocky, a partner with Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP, is the new president of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals (ATLP).
Hocky, who has served in a variety of leadership positions with the ATLP the past four years, was recently installed as president during the association's 80th Annual Meeting in Denver. The ATLP is an independent non-profit organization of transportation law professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct in the field.
Hocky is a partner in Thorp Reed's Transportation and Logistics industry group and a member of the firm's General Corporate Practice Group, where he focuses on a variety of transportation and general corporate matters, relating primarily to railroads and their shippers. He has over 25 years of experience representing railroads and other transportation interests throughout the United States on a variety of matters before federal and state regulatory agencies, including the Surface Transportation Board, the Railroad Retirement Board and Federal Railroad Administration.
Hocky, who received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, is also an associate member of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, and serves on its General Counsel Committee.
