Kansas City Southern subsidiary, The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR), will invest approximately $13 million in its Greenville Subdivision through Texas and Louisiana during 2016.
The investment will include the replacement of 2.5 miles of rail and 64,000 cross ties, as well as improvements to more than 80 road crossings.
Beginning August 23, rail, cross tie and crossing improvements are planned between Leesburg, Texas, and Blanchard, La. KCSR will work through the communities of Leesburg, Pittsburg, Cason, Daingerfield, Hughes Springs, Avinger, Jefferson, and Karnack, Texas and Blanchard, La.
Construction will continue through September.
