BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) has published its annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report, which highlights the company’s focus on enhancing safety and its efforts to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through more sustainable operations. John Lovenburg, BNSF vice president for environmental, stated, “We are proud of the role we play moving freight in the global supply chain, and in this report we provide a look into how we partner with our customers, suppliers and communities to make our business safer, more efficient and sustainable to build a better tomorrow.”
The report was prepared in accordance with the G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a globally recognized reporting framework for environmental, social and governance performance. The report addresses material issues important to BNSF stakeholders and its business.
