Sound Transit, the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority, has announced that November 2016 weekday ridership has increased 94.8 percent over November 2015. Saturday boardings were also up, with an increase of 103.5 percent over the previous year.
In November 2016, Link light rail weekday ridership was up by 94.8 percent over the same month in 2015, with two new Link stations opening in March and September of last year. Link averaged 66,237 riders each weekday in November 2016 compared to 34,003 weekday riders in 2015. Saturday ridership was up 103.5 percent to 44,130.
Combined boardings on Sound Transit light rail and commuter trains and express buses grew 33.4 percent for November compared to the same month in 2015.
