Patriot Rail Company LLC (Patriot Rail) has appointed Matthew Reddell vice president and chief safety officer to serve as the senior safety executive charged with leading all safety efforts throughout the company's rail services holdings. Reddell will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and report to John E. Fenton, president and chief executive officer.
Reddell, who joined Patriot Rail in January 2015 as vice president and chief mechanical officer, has 15 years of rail industry experience. Prior to joining the company, he worked in various transportation, engineering, procurement and mechanical roles with Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, Amtrak, Canadian Pacific, RailAmerica, Genesee & Wyoming and Bombardier.

"From day one, this management team established safety as our cornerstone value," said Fenton. "While our safety performance continues to improve, we won't be satisfied with anything less than an accident-free workplace.”
“Matthew is a highly regarded leader in our industry, and has built a well-deserved reputation as a zealous guardian of employee safety. He brings a keen understanding of what it takes to deliver top results the right way—by creating a just culture where people willingly engage in the mission. I know he will use those abilities to engage the entire workforce as we pursue our goal of an absolute culture of safety,” Fenton added.
