Joseph Rago
HNTB Corporation has named Joseph Rago, PE, CEM, LEED, senior project manager and associate vice president of the northeast division rail and transit practice. Rago will be involved in the pursuit and delivery of rail programs and projects across the northeast United States. He will be based in the firm’s Newark, N.J., office.
Mike Sweeney, PE, president of HNTB northeast division, stated, “Joe’s extraordinary level of program management experience and technical knowledge of the Northeast Corridor’s rail infrastructure network provides our clients with much-needed critical expertise as we work together to create rail systems that will support economic growth today and into the future.”
Rago is a licensed engineer in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Prior to joining HNTB, he was deputy chief engineer of capital construction for Amtrak where he managed multiple programs across the Amtrak system.
Rago graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is a member of the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, Air Conditioning Engineers. He also was a contributing author of “Design of Diesel Ventilation Systems” for the ASHRAE systems handbook.
