The San Pedro & Southwestern Railroad (SPSR) has just celebrated its tenth year of being accident-free.
In addition, SPSR employees have not had a reportable injury since 1999, making the Benson, Ariz.-based short line a nine-time recipient of the "Jake Jacobson Award." The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association grants this award annually to railroads that have not had an employee injury for an entire year.
