The Surface Transportation Board website www.stb.dot.gov is changing to www.stb.gov on September 9, 2016. The change is intended to reflect that the STB is a wholly independent federal agency, as a result of the STB Reauthorization Act of 2015, which eliminated the STB’s administrative affiliation with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The STB’s website will be unavailable from 5:00 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 2, 2016, and from 5:00 p.m. on September 9, 2016, to 11:59 p.m. on September 10.
Following the address change, website functionality will resume, and the site will be accessible.
E-mail addresses for agency personnel will continue to use the @stb.dot.gov suffix, but should be migrated to the @stb.gov suffix in the coming weeks. A public announcement of this change will be made soon.
Chairman Elliott noted that the Board will continue to notify the public of important actions taken by the STB regarding Reauthorization Act implementation.
