Union Pacific is investing more than $28 million on track improvements between Marshall and Buckner, Mo., including the removal and installation of nearly 41 miles of new rail.
When the project is complete in June, crews will have removed and installed nearly 41 miles of new rail, renewed the road surfaces at 64 crossings and upgraded 12 switches that guide a train from one track to another.
Union Pacific invested more than $80 million for capital projects in Missouri in 2007 and 2008.
