Watco Acquires Phoenix Cargill Transload Facility

Watco Companies, L.L.C. (Watco) wholly owned subsidiary Watco Transloading, L.L.C. has acquired Cargill Incorporated’s Phoenix transload facility.

Watco began operations at the facility on November 15, 2017, doing business as Watco Terminal & Port Services.

“Our first day of operations went very well,” said Senior Vice President of Operations Doug Manuel. “It was virtually seamless because we were able to bring on all of the employees from the previous third party provider.”

At the facility, food-grade products are transloaded from rail to truck, and employees also are responsible for food-grade truck washing.

In the future, Watco plans to bring in new business and offer the food-grade truck cleaning services to other providers.

“We’re excited to add this facility to our terminal network and look forward to working on growing this business and continuing to serve Phoenix area industries,” said Manuel.
