Railinc Corp. reports that Tom Werner of Norfolk Southern Corporation was elected chairman of the Railinc board of directors and that Heather Campbell of Canadian Pacific Railway also was elected to the board.
Werner, vice president of information technology at Norfolk Southern, joined the Railinc board in 2007. Werner succeeds Canadian Pacific's Allen Borak, who has retired from the board.
"Tom is a well-respected rail industry and information technology veteran," said Allen West, Railinc's president and CEO. "We're excited about his leadership and expanded role as a valued advisor."
Campbell currently serves as vice president of information technology at Canadian Pacific. West noted that Campbell's addition "brings a fresh perspective" to the Railinc board. "Her background and leadership experience will provide us with considerable strategic and operational insight," he said.
Campbell joined Canadian Pacific in 2009. Before joining the railroad, she was at Barclays PLC in London, where she was chief operating officer for the IT Division of the global retail and commercial bank. Campbell also has held executive and senior management positions in technology with Rogers Communications Inc., BMO Financial Group and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
Cary, N.C.-based Railinc is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads, providing IT and information services to the railroad industry.
